Volunteering
Home › Living well › Volunteering
Volunteering is a lovely reason to get out of the house: a little sunshine, some fresh air, and good people working side by side. Friendships grow from it, the whole community is better for it, and it feels good to know you made a difference. Here are places around the area that welcome volunteers, from delivering lunches to leading museum tours to grooming horses. Each one has its own sign-up steps, and a few, like the police and sheriff's volunteer programs, include a background check.
12 listings, in no particular order. Everything here comes from each listing's own website or a public resource page, and I've linked it under each one so you can check it yourself.

A little gift for your fridge
I made a one-page "Who to Call" sheet: the good numbers to have for the Quad Cities, a short checklist for hiring help, and space to write in your own favorite plumber, handyman and helpers.
You can download it right away. After that I'll send a few short, useful notes over the next two weeks, then an occasional one when something good comes up. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and I never share your address.
